Le Langage Enfantin Revisited

Having posted a link earlier in the week to a web page featuring 'le langage enfantin', I decided it might be helpful if I put together a list of all the words I had come accross over recent months. So I have created a page which you can access by the tab at the top of my blog.

I will keep adding to it over time.

As always, if anyone has any suggested additions or amendments, please do let me know either by posting a comment or emailing me at non.native.adventure@gmail.com

  1. Thanks so much for this...I am very happy to discover something new. I wish I had more time to focus on my language training, I feel as if I need to learn French to speak it.

  2. Chouette! I really like your idea of keeping the running list on your blog. I might have already sent this site to you when we started corresponding, but if not, here's one that's been helpful to me: http://jen.fluxcapacitor.net/babytalk/french.html

Your posts about this remind me that when Griffin was born, I started reading a "how to raise your baby" book in French, and I took notes on all the baby-related expressions that were unfamiliar. Now that I'll soon be embarking on another baby adventure, I should pull out that list! (And finish the book.)

By the way, I have also started a new page on my blog aimed at non-native parents like us who are using French with our kiddos. It's a work in progress, but I hope you'll find it helpful!

  3. Hi Sarah

Thanks for the link - there are some really useful words and phrases on there.

I too have a great baby raising book that's really comprehensive but written in a relaxed and humorous manner. Also, its only small so can fit in a handbag and be pulled out whenever you have a spare five mins. So, if you ever did decide you wanted to buy another such book, I can recommend "Jeune Maman et Paresseuse".

I have had a look at your new page and think it's a fantastic idea and it will be a great resource for me and others. I love that you put so much effort into your blog and into sharing your knowledge and experience with other people.

  4. Thanks for the recommendation! "Relaxed and humorous" sounds like what I need these days.

And thank you for the feedback--I'm blushing!
